Faders

Every app on your Mac, its own volume.

A menu bar app for macOS that puts a volume slider on every app that plays sound. Turn the music down without touching the call, mute a browser, boost a quiet app to 200%. Built on Apple's Core Audio process taps, so there is no audio driver to install, and it runs inside the App Sandbox.

Inside Faders

A slider for every app

Apps show up the moment they make a sound, each with its own slider and mute button. Volumes are remembered per app and come back the next time it plays.

Steps out of the way

An app only passes through Faders while its volume is changed. At 100% the tap is released and the app plays natively again, with no added latency.

Keyboard first

Global shortcuts change or mute the app in front, with a small on-screen readout. faders:// links let Raycast, Shortcuts or a shell do the same.
