Always-on polling
A worker samples live player counts on a fixed cadence, so the record keeps filling in whether or not anyone is watching.
History that compounds
Every sample lands in a partitioned time-series store, so the history compounds into a baseline a single live number can never show.
Signal over noise
Snapshots and rankings roll up into trends: which games are climbing, which are fading, and how a title really moves across a day.
